hi!
on your page (http://treke.net/downloads/) there is a file
called 'deusex.iso'. is this the never released Loki game?
i bought all of the Loki games and certainly would have
bought this too but now that Loki has shut down, would it
be possible to make a 'patch' (set of linux executables)
to use with the windows cd?
i just read on timedoctor.org that "Pretty Much Dead Studios"
(ION Storm) wants zakk to port Daikatana to linux so they
probably wouldn't mind seeing the Deus Ex port... from what
i heard the Deus Ex linux port was ready for release. so it
would only be good for ION Strom/Eidos if some linux users
would buy the win cds...
please write back!
the timedoctor.org staff replies:
Please give Crusader back his peyote.
Thanksyou.

Zack Slater

Volunteer to port Daikatana? - Posted 2002-05-22 02:14:25 by zakk |
Pretty Much Dead Studios has contacted me in regards to porting their game, Daikatana.
For those that haven't heard of it, it's one of the first FPSs with a man named Superfly Johnson. It looks a little like Quake 2, and you can see where games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein borrowed heavily from Daikatana. Eidos used to own the game and the great characters, but Pretty Much Dead (a company made up of the coders that originally wrote Daikatana) has bought the rights to the game and plans to keep it going and enhance it.
Admittedly, I haven't played it, but it looks like a game that will be fun for people with lower-end systems and people that like a higher-quality of player-superfly interaction than other FPS games.
Anyhow, if you'd like to do the port, please contact me and I'll put you in touch with the developers. The work will not be high-paying, but it might be worth it to have a game like this available to Linux users.
